M and Crog recently did an acoustic version of Rain 4 eva on radio to some magikal audience and DJ responses. Stay tuned for some alpha state acoustic shows towards the end of June featuring special guests.

Alpha State are Triple M's Launchpad feature band for April. Fractured has been getting a few spins - tune in Sunday nights around 10:00.

Release date new EP 'Out of Here' is 1st March 2005. The EP will available at Gaslight, our products page and Chaos Music Online.
We will be officially launching the EP @ The Melbourne Juvenile Justice and Parkville Youth Residential and Switch in April 2005.
We have also been asked back to Chartbusting 80s a third time! Show will air at 8.30 pm March 17th and be repeated on the 19th at 9.00.

Many thanks to those friends and supporters that made 2004 a great year, and no hard feelings to those that tried unsuccessfully to make it suck. Bleah!

The Out of Here EP is nearing completion. Jamie Durrant at Studio Riverview Lodge is working his mixing magic and Jack the Bear at Sing Sing will be mastering it shortly. We think you'll all be happy with the results.

Alpha State are very keen to support Australian visual artists so we're holding a competition to find original artwork for our new EP. Any medium is fine as long as the piece is intense, memorable, eye-catching and somehow reflects Alpha State's music. Prize for best entry is an MP3 player or digital camera and our guitarist Crog as your gimp for a month. For more information email m@alpha-state.com

After working flat out all winter Alpha State will be taking a spring break to concentrate on recording the new EP. We've picked 5 tracks based on audience reaction - Feed and Fractured will be on there. Several new songs are under way as well so summer should be huge.

Big shout outs to James Hunt of The Eternal, Jase the Superstar Engineer, Felix for lights, Xtine, Hayley, Amanda and the merchandise crew. Extra extra big shout out to the babes and metal heads going off in the front row - you know who you are. Happy birthday Johnny!!

Grins. Dancing. Headbanging. Punching the air. DV8? You bet. Greyn, Alpha State and Steel Affliction did their best to cave the roof in on a crowd of extremely enthusiastic supporters. Thanks to all there for a shit hot night. A special shout out to Jason the Birthday Boy, Babylon Ben, Wayne and Mat on lights.

What a weekend. After seeing Paper Street, Se7en and Flow at the Evelyn on Friday, Alpha State was inspired to rock xtra hard with mates Nitidus at the packed out Pony. Must have done something right - copies of both bands EPs were marching out the door. Congrats to Devil's Ocean on their virgin gig and also to Marcus and Heath of the Pony, and the fantastic crowd of keen supporters. Sunday night Alpha State shook the shit out of the Espy. Russ Kellet is a fanatical supporter of Melbourne music and we love him. Just not as often as he would like. Stay tuned for some more Channel 31 action on the 29th.

Alpha State are honoured to be supporting the powerful melodic doom metal of The Eternal at the launching of their debut release for Finland's Firebox Records "The Sombre Light of Isolation". Many thanks to those that made it to see Alpha State do their thing on the night at one of Melbourne's best supporters of independent, original music. Cheers to Fencehole, Dropzone and all their mates for supporting us. An extra big shout out to the Armadale's booker Amanda.

Alpha State have just received a Victorian Government arts grant under the Music for the Future program. This funding will go towards making the next EP as kick arse as it can be. We start tracking in the next fortnight so stay tuned for updates.

Alpha State's version of 80's classic Push It will be appearing shortly on the DVD of the NABBA Southern Hemisphere Championships. Stay tuned for more details.

The Duke of Windsor gig with .hinge was a huge success! Glenn and the boys were in fine form and we're all looking forward to the new album. Thanks to Andy at the Duke for taking a risk on original local music. Respek to our comrades in A Silent Betrayal and The Knives of Neptune for their passion. Also a big shout out to Golly and the boys from Full Scale for their support! Most of all our love and respect goes out to everyone who came out on such a shitty Melbourne night. Your enthusiasm for what we do means the world to us - tell a friend!!

Alpha State announce lots of activity this July. Saturday 3 July Alpha State headline at the Armadale Hotel with support from Dropzone and other friends. More Channel 31 activity as we feature on Russ Kellets show on Saturday 10th July morning at 9.00 am followed by a FREE Espy Alpha State jam at the Public Bar on Sunday 11th July at 8.00 pm. Saturday July 17 Alpha State play DV8 with metal warriors Steel Affliction. Thursday 22nd July Alpha State support Sin City and The Shine at GOO. Finally, on Thursday 29th July, Alpha State return to Chartbusting 80's by public demand for an 80s hair metal tribute. PHEW!

This Saturday 19th June, Alpha State support .hinge at the Duke of Windsor (179 Chapel St, Windsor). Show starts with Geelong band "A Silent Betrayal", followed by "The Knives Of Neptune". Alpha State take the stage at 10:30. Doors open at 8.30 pm with $6 entry.

Had fun smashing up the Public Bar on Friday 27th.Thanks to Sydonia and heaps of friends for their esteemed drunken company.

We had a great weekend, starting Thursday night appearing on Chartbusting 80's with that Italian tartarella herself, Josie Parelli. We had an absolute ball playing telly stars. Shout out to Carly,Sasha, Kristina and all the chillin crew.! Stay tuned for our hair metal tribute happening at the end of this season.

Alpha State are taking a couple of weeks to develop lots of new show ideas. With the awesome feedback the band has been having lately, and the new EP out, the band is working hard to create their best performances jam packed with goodness.

The new website is currently being constructed by Stu Dogg with some help from the Wham Blam Design crew. Malicia our mascot has served us well, but its time for us to say fare thee well to the little vixen from hell.

Alpha State are playing live on Channel 31's "Chartbusting 80s" on Thursday May 27, where we will be performing our version of 80s classic tunes "Push It" and "Flashdance- What a feeling!" The following day, Friday May 28, we will be in the ESPY Public Bar with Sydonia for a huge party.

What a tremendous turnout at Switch. Thanks heaps to everyone that came to check us out- lots of new faces and some familiar faces. Shout out to Mark from 5 Star Prison Cell, to film guru Nick C, and to Craig the Switch DJ - coz "chicks dig it Craigie booooi." Big thanks to Tension and Seven and again to Jason for a brilliant mix.

On May 1st 2004, Alpha State launch new EP at Switch @ Caseys Nightclub. Performances on the night also from Seven and Tension. The EP features 4 tracks including the Alpha State version of 80's classic "Push It".

On April 24th 2004, Alpha State along with Supercede, support the great Steel Affliction at Deviate Nightclub. Action starts 10.30 upstairs on the 3rd floor bandroom and entry is $8. Alpha State will be handing out copies of freshly pressed demo "Breath Away" to prime movers…

Alpha State play at Footscray's Whitten Oval all ages. Thanks to Fairy Floss babes and Humanoid.

Alpha State play all ages gig for the people of Whittlesea. A great turn out and awesome to see grandmas rockin out with their grandkids. Yeea.

On March 18th 2004 Alpha State rip it up at Goo with Tension to warm the stage for the melodic powerful stonefest that is the mighty Dreadnaught. Be sure to look out for special guests…Fun starts at 9.30 with $1 shots.

Alpha State announce an endorsement deal with Mesa Boogie. All Alpha State guitarists and bass use Mesa Boogie amps and are proud to be associated with the finest amplifier manufacturer on the planet.

Alpha State appear on Channel 31s Russ Kellet's Melbourne playing an acoustic version of "Angel" appearing on second demo CD "Breath away". The band follows up show with an appearance at Russ's Jams at the Espy on February 22nd.

Alpha State support the debut of new rockin' outfit Vena Kava, at the Armadale Hotel on Valentine's Day. Also playing is the polictical rock of Puppetman.

Alpha State take one month off to record demo at Chunky Dungeon studios in Heidelberg.
